According to Health Undersecretary Eric Tayag, the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations over the holiday season was low. Tayag reported that the Department of Health conducted visits to hospitals to assess their preparations for handling COVID-19 cases and fireworks injuries at the request of Health officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire.

While the number of COVID-19 patients and fireworks-related injuries treated in hospitals over the holiday season was not disclosed, Health Undersecretary Eric Tayag reported a low number of hospitalizations due to the virus. Despite the decrease in daily COVID-19 cases, Tayag still urged the public to get tested for the virus.
