President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed the P5.268 trillion Philippine national budget for 2023 in the Malacañan Palace on Friday.

In the presence of key administration officials and leaders from both the House of Representatives and the Senate, the President signed the bicameral conference committee report containing the consolidated versions of the 2023 General Appropriations Bill according to the Office of the press Secretary.

Marcos Jr.’s presidential budget has just been announced – a bold plan that focuses on the growth of agriculture and marks his first few months in office. With this initiative, he is showing an ambitious commitment to setting up long-term stability in our nation’s fields!

In a tense Congressional debate, the fate of certain funds was pushed to center stage as both Houses weighed in on budget deliberations for 2023. Ultimately, Vice President Sara Duterte’s DepEd and OVP were saved from drastic cuts – though not before their controversial confidential intelligence funding (CIFs) came under serious scrutiny!
