🥇 PRIMOŽ ROGLIČ SILENCED THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE WORLD CHAMPION🏆

In Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Primož Roglič of Jumbo-Visma won the first stage of the Volta a Catalunya after beating Remco Evenepoel from Soudal-QuickStep in an uphill sprint. This showdown between the two riders could be the beginning of a long-standing rivalry, as they are set to compete against each other in the Giro d’Italia in May.

Unfortunately, Adam Yates from UAE Team Emirates was involved in a crash with 6km to go, which shattered his hopes of winning the overall race again, as he lost more than 10 minutes to Roglic and Evenepoel.

Considering Roglič’s previous success in similar sprints during the Tirreno-Adriatico earlier this month, it was no surprise that his Jumbo-Visma team led the way towards the finish line, which favored his strengths.

In Tuesday’s second stage cyclists will climb to two thousand on the finish climb. 🏔️ The final climb will be 11.1 kilometers long with an average incline of 7.6 percent.

The third stage brings two first-category clans and one extra category. 4000 meters high on the menu.

The fifth stage contains the hardest final climb – 8.4 kilometers with an average incline of 9 percent.
