ROXAS CITY – One of the most exciting events of Capiztahan 2023 is the Baroto Race Year 10 of Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) dyVR Roxas 657 khz. and iFM 93.9, April 21.
The said event is very historic considering Panay River is located at the heart of the City of Roxas and it is part and parcel of the history of Capiz.
The race of improvised motorized banca started in 2011 was participated in by fishermen coming from different coastal barangays and municipalities of Roxas City and Capiz province.
According to RMN dyVR station manager Ely Abarra, supposedly it is our 12th year but the event stops because of the pandemic intervention in 2021 and 2022.”
The Baroto Race of RMN dyVR Roxas and iFM is considered as one of the longest activities of Capiztahan.
The race starts from San Roque Bridge to Jumbo Bridge, both in Panay River.
